Summary |
Circuveg™ is a dietary supplement by Health From the Sun that is claimed to “support normal circulation.” It is true that varicose and spider veins formations have to do with blood circulation; however, the root cause of the problem lies not in lack of proper circulation, but in weakened valves that regulate the direction of the blood flow in the veins. As such, the market is flooded with mediocre topical applications and supplements that purportedly aid with healthy circulation.
Moreover, there are a number of moisturizing creams and other specialized topical applications available nowadays that claim to instantly reduce the body’s imperfections, including varicose veins; however, we believe that when it comes to reducing spider veins, topical applications may not really be of much assistance. Therefore, we will take a look at the supplement, Circuveg™, to conclude whether it may potentially reduce spider and varicose veins.

 | Ingredients at a Glance |
|
Circuveg™, as mentioned above, is manufactured by Health From the Sun. We could not get hold of an official and exclusive website for the manufacturer, let alone for the product. In any case, it is but clear that the formula contains at least Butcher’s Broom. As per some retail stores, the complete list of ingredients included is as follows: Butchers Broom Rhizome (Ruscus aculeatus) Extract, Standardized Essential Oil, Standardized Saponosides and Rosemary Leaf (Rosmarinus officinalis) Powder.

 | Ingredients in Focus |
|
Butcher’s Broom is claimed by many manufacturers to aid with healthy blood circulation and strengthening of capillaries and veins. Butcher's Broom is actually a wild evergreen bush found in Southern Europe and Asia. The ingredient is invariably championed by many different supplement makers, including those promoting products for reducing varicose and spider veins.
However, at this time, we could not find much evidence, scientific or otherwise, to back such claims. We remain skeptical about ingredients that are supposed to do many wonderful things. The same could probably be said of Rosemary Oil. Rosemary is known as a popular essential oil, which is said to aid with healthy blood circulation and strengthening of capillaries and veins, but scientific evidence backing its advantages may be unavailable at this time.

 | Website |
|
We would have been more enthusiastic of the product if it were promoted through its own official and exclusive website. We find such an exclusive online presence usually proves the manufacturer’s commitment towards its product. The best of such websites will feature prominent literature on its key ingredients and back them up with a slew of evidence, including data on their popularity and effectiveness. A good product website will also be backed by numerous and positive testimonials.

 | Final Thoughts |
|
We find it is no longer surprising to come across hype surrounding an ordinary plant extract. Almost any supplement industry has its share of incredible compounds that are claimed to do many useful things. The claims may even attract a seasoned and educated consumer. However, the dearth of scientific evidence backing such claims makes us believe they really may only be conventional wisdom. We believe more in ingredients that have been scientifically advanced and widely used.
An advantage of using a specialized supplement may be that they will contain specific ingredients, rather than plant extracts that are purportedly based on conventional wisdom. Nowadays, ingredients like Diosmin 95®, which has been used by millions of people in Europe to successfully address their varicose and spider veins, may be available in the U.S. as well. It may be a good strategy to try a product that contains such ingredients, and is also FDA-approved.
